4 Easy Ways to Stay Cool this Summer

If your body is in tune with the seasons, you’re naturally craving cool foods and drinks, and probably have less appetite too. If your body’s not in tune, try these suggestions to help guide it there.
1) Water, water, water. Yes, it’s obvious but it’s so easy to choose iced coffee at breakfast, lemonade with lunch and a cold beer after work and forget to drink your water. Dehydration slows you down, tires you out, makes you hotter, and messes up your health.
2) It’s a good idea to eat more raw foods, like fruit, vegetables, salads, nuts and seeds, during the hot months, and limit your intake of meat and dairy. I recently had a delicious spinach salad with watermelon, blueberries and a little goat cheese… at Pizzeria Uno of all places! Yum!
3) You may feel too hot to move, but staying fit with regular exercise helps you release toxins through your sweat and loosens up your body. Of course it also helps maintain your healthy weight if you indulge in too many frozen cocktails.
4) Make it minty. Mint is naturally cooling for the body so add fresh mint leaves to your iced tea and use peppermint oil to cool your skin after a sunburn.
