- Eat when you’re hungry. Skipping meals, especially breakfast, causes your blood sugar levels to drop extremely low. This causes irritability, fatigue and mood swings followed by major sugar cravings and a greater likelihood to make unhealthy choices. You’ll naturally reduce your sugar intake by not starving yourself during the day.
- Choose balanced meals. Your body always seeks balance. When the body is in balance, you maintain a healthy weight, prevent illness, limit stress and minimize cravings. Aim to include grains, vegetables, healthy fats and quality protein with every meal, even your snacks. Notice if eating too little protein contributes to your sugar cravings.
